What Will Your Toddler Learn in Each Grade?
Musical Adventure Lessons for Ages 2.5 and Above
Aureus Interactive Musical Adventure lessons are built to support students from age 2.5 and above. Unlike traditional lessons that can lack clear progress or milestones, Aureus Interactive keeps students engaged through a structured musical journey with clear milestones, interactive materials, and rewarding achievements.
The result? A learning experience that keeps students motivated while helping them build real musical ability and confidence.
Starting the Musical Journey
Your toddler begins exploring music through stories, songs and playful activities. During this stage they will:
- Meet Ba, Bada, and Badaya Bumblebeats
- Tap a toy drum, shake a tambourine, play a triangle and use a shaker
- Play simple songs with handbells
- Sing short songs
By the end of Grade 1, your toddler will feel comfortable participating in musical activities and exploring different sounds.
Exploring Music Through the Piano
Toddlers are introduced to their first keyboard instrument while continuing to build listening and rhythm skills. In Grade 2, they'll:
- Meet Badayama Bumblebeat, an Aureus character
- Sing songs in 3/4 time
- Explore loud and soft sounds through music activities.
- Learn how to play the piano
By the end of Grade 2, your toddler will listen more carefully, recognise different sounds and feel more confident exploring the piano.
Discovering the Guitar
Toddlers are introduced to the guitar through fun musical exploration. During this stage they will:
- Recognise fast and slow sounds
- Notice when sounds gradually become louder or softer
- Practise moving their fingers across the guitar strings
By the end of Grade 3, your toddler will feel more comfortable with the guitar while developing hand coordination.
Discovering the Violin
Your toddler begins exploring the unique sounds of the violin through guided activities. During this stage they will:
- Meet Bibi Bumblebeat, an Aureus character.
- Recognise different timbres
- Explore how the violin is played
By the end of Grade 4, your toddler will be more familiar with the violin's sound while continuing to explore music through play.
Exploring the Drums
In the final Adventure, your toddler is introduced to the drums. They'll:
- Play the drums
- Perform musical passages combining all the Bumblebeats
- Develop greater awareness of pitch, dynamics and timbre
By the end of Adventure 5, your toddler will have tried a variety of instruments and discovered what they enjoy most about music.
